What you might find in Kyle's bed...

I have to admit that I am really bad at cleaning Kyle's sheets. I know that probably sounds gross, but he takes a shower every night and most mornings...so his sheets aren't too dirty. I put off cleaning his sheets because he has a bunk bed and there's only about 3 feet between the bed and the ceiling. This makes it somewhat difficult for a woman that is 8 months pregnant to climb up into and move everything around to get the sheets off. Therefore, his bed sheets only get cleaned like twice (sometimes once-shhh!) a month. I managed to manuever through the bed today and wanted to share a list of everything I found in his bed, mostly shoved between the mattress and wall or bed railing...

What you might find in an 11-year old boy's bed:

  • 22 stuffed animals
  • 7 blankets
  • 6 pillows
  • 3 pillowcases
  • 2 pair of socks
  • 2 nerf guns
  • 1 long sleeve shirt
  • and a water bottle filled with stinky water

So, I thought it was funny. What ever happened to his other pillowcases??? I did take all the stuffed animals and put them in a box. He's 11, so probably doesn't need those anymore. Back before we had the bunk bed I had Kyle trained to pull all his own sheets off & make his own bed. But it's just so annoying with the bunkbed now, so I kinda gave up on making him do it. Plus he is just getting to that "tween" stage where he is starting to leave his room messy instead of wanting to keep it cleaned up for his mommy. So, I'm going to have to start that battle.

Although, one way we like to look at it is that he is such a GOOD kid. He gets A's in school, is funny & outgoing, athletic, honest, he has incredible common sense (you don't always get that with book-smart kids) and he always makes the right decisions---even when everyone else isn't. I guess if the worst thing about him is that he keeps his room messy, then we've got it pretty good!

His sister, on the other hand, is a whole different story!!!!
