We celebrated Fathers Day with my dad this weekend (a.k.a. Grandpa Konert) since he'll be out of town on Father's Day weekend. Anyway, my mom (a.k.a. Grandma Konert) got my dad a Superman card, complete with the song and everything. So...here's our Superbaby flying to the music on the card....

Kyle had a 5th Grade BBQ after his Field Day. The kids had a great time dancing to the DJ (Kyle wouldn't even know there was dancing b/c he played soccer the whole time! :), playing soccer and volleyball, eating hot dogs and drinking TONS of soda, having a water balloon fight, and finishing it all off with some popsicles. Matt came up for the BBQ and, of course, was lured into the soccer game by Kyle & his friends. He's such a big kid---I love it!
Water balloon fight! (Kyle likes the girl in the green shirt & I think she likes him, too.)
After Blake's Dedication service, we came back to our house for a Mother's Day lunch. Dad made delicious pulled pork, Mom made a yummy vegetable salad, and Gail made some tasty potatoes. I made a pound cake/pudding/cool whip truffle that was, of course, low-fat (yeah, right!) We all had a great time!
Kyle & Hannah were with their dad for Easter this year. We missed them very much!! Here's a few pics with Blake...

I love this pic of Matt & Blake. It cracks me up. Blake doesn't yet realize how silly his daddy really is.

It's official! I will be a SAHM as of February 1, 2009. (FYI~~SAHM=Stay At Home Mom).
I am so, so, so, so, SO, SO, SO (you get the picture) excited!!! It was a tough decision that Matt & I discussed, prayed, and changed our minds about for months, but the decision is in and I will be staying home with Baby Evans!! Whoo-hoo!
I volunteer for SO many things and my kids are both very involved with social & extra-curricular activities, so I think that staying at home will just make my life a lot less stressful...in some ways. I will also be SUPER busy nursing, changing, teaching, and playing with my baby! Of course, there's a bit of a downfall, too. We have to super-tighten our budget (already started) and we'll (all) have to sacrifice a few things, but the pros far outweigh the cons.
I am so blessed to have a super hubby like Matt. He really has been the one that was encouraging me to stay at home from the start. I have always wanted to, but never really had the opportunity when Kyle & Hannah were younger. Matt just kept saying that we would make it work, and we will!
So, there you have it. My last day of employment (in a company) will be January 31st! Then it's off to my new position...at home...when the work will still continue!

Matt has had the best Halloween costumes over the last few years. He always chooses people that he actually looks like. This year he chose Pee Wee Herman. I'm not sure if that is a compliment that he looks like Pee Wee Herman, but it is funny. Here's the comparision to see for yourself...

Just got this SO CUTE pic of my wonderful hubby & had to post it. You can tell he is deep in thought...watching football!! Yesterday was my bday and he worked so hard all day for me, so I was glad to see him get some R & R today!

Matt has slaved over the basement for hours upon hours for the last 10 months. We both worked on the basement all weekend to finish up some final touches. The only things left are a few electrical issues (We need Brayden to help us with that), we need to find a vent that we drywalled over (yes, that really happened), and we need to carpet the floor. We went to a few stores this weekend, found, and ordered our carpet. They are coming to measure on Wednesday, and we'll hopefully have our carpet installed within the next two to three weeks!! The bathroom and kitchenette are completely finished (since they were tiled). Here's some of the finished pics:
Bathroom (Vanity Area) - FINISHED!! :)
Bathroom (Shower Area) - FINISHED!! :)
Kitchenette (just installed the countertop) - FINISHED!! :)
Kitchenette (Cabinet side) - FINISHED! !:)
Stairs (just installed wood railings) - Check out Matt's sweet step lights!!

We have our cabinets & countertops for the basement! The cabinets are fully installed; countertops soon to be. We're waiting on the bar countertop to be cut first.

I am just getting caught up on a few things from last week. It was pretty hectic with school starting & soccer practices. We had Meet the Teacher Night on Monday night, Aug. 11th. Hannah got the teacher she wanted & made a new best friend immediately. Kyle did not have any of his close friends in his class this year. I felt bad for him since this was his 5th year & last year at the grade school. There are five 5th grade classes this year and 5-6 of his friends were all assigned to the same classroom. I was so proud of him, though, because even though he was disappointed at first--he then said, "Well, at least I won't be talking as much in school this year and can focus on my grades." I thought that sounded so grown up! Also, he'll have to make new friends, which is never a bad thing & is what it will be like next year when he goes to middle school. Here's a few pics from Meet the Teacher Night:

We're working on tiling the bathroom (Matt), getting the electric hooked up--we have lightswitches!! (Brayden), and finishing up painting-cutting in on the walls/ceilings, painting completmentary colors in the windowsills & shelves (Christee). Here's some pictures so far. What's the next step? Painting the bathroom (Christee), installing the doors & baseboards (Matt), getting the plumbing finished in the bathroom (Plumber). We're getting there!!

We had a BBQ at our house for everyone in the Marketing Department at FHC. It was nice hanging out with our co-workers and just having a good time, instead of working. Fun was had by all.

Matt rented a sprayer to paint the ceiling and the walls. Check out his pic after spraying the ceiling! Thank goodness he was wearing a face mask! I guess this is what his hair will look like when it gets gray!
