Shadow Slideshow

Shadow is our dog that we rescued from a local shelter. When I say "rescued", I literally mean it. We picked him up on a Wednesday, and he was scheduled for euthanization on that Friday. He's been a real blessing to our family. He was approx. one year old when we got him, and fully house-trained--whoo-hoo! I was a but nervous at first because you never know what the dog went through before he was dropped off at the shelter. It didn't especially help that he tore up a big hole in my NEW carpet in my house that was not even a year old when we first got him. It did help that he has NEVER gone to the bathroom in our house. (Please note: Now that I've said that, I'm sure he'll start, right??) We have been taking him to dog training for about 8 weeks now, and he graduated to the second level a couple weeks ago. He's a super smart dog, that loves getting photographed!! No, really! We took a family pic a few weeks ago and he ran up, sat right in front of us, and looked at the camera. It was too cute. His best trick so far is that he can open doors. This is SO fun to watch, but not great when he escapes from the house. When it first started happening, we figured he would jump at the door & hit the lever door handle to open it. When we actually saw what he was doing...it was amazing! He puts his mouth on the lever handle, pulls down, and backs up to open the door. I promise that I really will get a video of this someday to post on here! I just discovered this Smilebox website & love what they do with slideshows, so here's one on Shadow!!
