Court Date TODAY--results

First of all, thanks to EVERYONE for your wonderful prayers and thoughts. I cannot tell you how encouraging and reassuring it was to get your emails while I was praying & waiting (for over three hours!) to get in front of the judge. Overall, the court date went well. There are a few things I wish we could have addressed, but we couldn't. The judge DID tell my ex-husband that he was still responsible for a few things he was hoping to have written off. So, that was good. The judge also told him that he would be in contempt of court if he chose not to follow through with what he was ordered to do. So, that was good, too. He basically got a warning, which I guess is progress.

I was a little upset driving home. It's hard to feel like I do everything I can to make the right decisions while my ex does not and he continues to get away with so much without any consequences (for the last seven years). The phrase, "It's not fair!" comes to mind. I am reassured that someday he will have his true judgement day when he will be held accountable for all of his actions. Please pray that he may come to know Jesus at some point in his life. This would all be worth it to know that maybe it is just part of his journey to find Him.

One more thing...I LOVE it when God sends messages directly to us (and we realize it). There's nothing better than hearing a sermon speak directly to you about something you are struggling with at that very moment. I also love to look back over my life and see the struggles, failures, and triumphs and where they have brought me today. It's so incredible to think...hmmm--yes, I thought that was hard to deal with at the time, but look what God did in my life during that difficult time. SO, as I was driving home after court the song "It's all Yours" (by Steven Curtis Chapman) came on the radio. First of all, I always tear up on this song since he added the verse after his daughter's death. But, today it really hit home. I thought, we go to court over "issues & stuff" and whether the judgment made turns out to be "fair" or not, it's all His. All of it. What an awesome God we have that not only does He give us so much, but when we are struggling and having a hard time--we can give it to Him. I am very thankful for that.

Court Date TODAY

I have a court date today and I am representing myself!!! I have been going back and forth between being so nervous that I am sick to my stomach and being reassured that whatever happens is in God's plan, so everything will be as it should. Still, I am nervous!!

I am asking that you please pray for my situation today, especially between the hours of noon and 3 pm. I feel that we have a good case, based on the facts, but this judge has not seen our situation as we have in the past and tended to lean on my ex-husband's side for whatever reason. So, please pray that God gives me to right words to speak, opens the Judge's ears to all honest and true facts so she can make a clear and good judgement on our case today. I am also going to pray that the Judge sees right through my ex-husbands lies and fabrications.

Thank you in advance for your prayers. I will update my blog tonight with how everything goes.

This is kinda-of funny. Kyle saw it and actually wanted to buy the CD. Wow...marketing to kids really DOES work! Then, Hannah heard us laughing & wanted to watch it. By the time we watched it two times, we were all singing the songs!

Girl Scout Cookies are being sold on Ebay!!

Seriously. People are now selling & ordering Girl Scout cookies on Ebay?!?!? I love technology and am all for changes that make us more efficient, but come on! Is it so unsafe now that the Girl Scouts can't even go door-to-door in their own neighborhood to sell GS cookies? Or is it that all the girls want to win the best prize & be the top-seller so they have recruited their parents to sell them on Ebay? I'm all for having the parents take the order form to work, but this is a little too much! Wasn't there suppossed to be some sort of lesson or skill that the girls learned when they went door-to-door selling GS cookies??

Okay, so I went to the GS website & this is what it says about the GS cookies:
From its earliest beginnings to its current popularity, the sale of cookies has helped Girl Scout Brownies, Girl Scout Juniors and Girl Scouts 11-17 have fun, develop valuable life skills, and make the world a better place by helping to support Girl Scouting in their communities. Girls are proud that their efforts provide resources for their local Girl Scout councils and for their own Girl Scout troops/groups.

So, I may stand corrected...selling GS cookies helps them to have fun (being online is fun), develop valuable life skills (definitely not social skills by selling online, but you do learn about supply & demand), plus it supports the GS troops/groups. Here's a new one~~~GS cookies even make this world a better place. Well, I think I'm going to make a difference in the world & go eat a tagalog right now!
