Exploring the Creek

We have a creek that runs through our neighborhood. Kyle plays in it all the time with his friends and has been wanting me to go with him. He claims to have found a "special place" with a sauna, waterfall, and pond. It sounds like something right out of Tom Sawyer, doesn't it!??! Well, when we had Jake & Sydney over I decided to go with them. It was certainly an adventure!! The creek was pretty low actually, but we did have lots of fun getting to the special place. There were TONS of bugs, lots of spiderwebs, and we also had to go through a few patches of very tall weeds to get to our destination. We had to go through the weeds because the water was so low & we didn't want to walk through the still-water--which did not look clean at all! When we finally got to the special place (which was much farther than I thought), it was pretty neat. There was a pond and a small waterfall, but the sauna was out-of-order because the water was so low. The sauna is actually a circular area with a few rocks that you can sit on, but since the water was low---it didn't fill up the inside of the sauna. It loved seeing this place with Kyle. It makes me so happy that he has a special place like this. It also makes me so happy that we moved where we did. It's such a great neighborhood with lots of kids. I have my wonderful husband to thank for this! I wanted to move into a different neighborhood and was really set on it, but Matt wanted to keep looking and see what else was available. Boy, am I glad we did!
